BLACKFISH GOES GOLD

"BUILT GREEN GOLD" that is

Our completed project in Burnaby has received a Gold rating with the Built Green Program. We would like to graciously thank our wonderful clients Catherine and Ian for supporting the program and using energy saving technology throughout their lovely home. The home consists of  three levels with a self contained suite.

The master suite makes up the entire third floor with its stunning en-suite that has body jets in the shower, and a bamboo vanity, along with a walkout deck with panoramic views.

The kitchen with its contemporary flair has "book matched" walnut cabinetry, quartz counter-tops, and glass and marble mosaic back-splash. Fresh and efficient was the goal. The walnut continues into the living room with a custom built in cabinet and accents on the modern inspired fireplace.

The house is heated with a high efficiency boiler and in floor radiant heat and is pre-plumbed for solar hot water collection from the roof. We also used a drain waste heat recovery unit to collect heat off any hot water heading down the drains to pre-heat the incoming cold water up to 10 degrees.

Other finishes included exposed "glu-lam" beams inside and out, bamboo floors, zero VOC paints, engineered counter tops, frame-less glass railings, and formaldehyde free cabinetry.

The house was constructed using the existing foundation. This allowed the mature garden to remain mostly undisturbed and drastically reduced carbon emissions in the destroying, removing and re pouring process required for a new foundation.

Thanks again to all the trades and suppliers helped put this project together.
